Written application
Scholarship applications are to include the following three items:
- A current curriculum vitae (CV) / resume, including name, address, phone number, email, gender, date of birth, full education history, full employment history and contact details of at least two referees (if applying for a 1st year scholarship also include official Year 12 results and university enter score).
Note: for all Horse Business Management related scholarships also include two colour photographs of yourself riding/handling horses with your name on the back
- A typed essay (of no more than 500 words) answering the specific scholarship question, with the essay question and your name at the top
- A typed essay (of no more than 100 words) answering the generic College question:
"What are your goals and aspirations for the future", with your name at the top.
Additional Notes and Variations
- The Virbac Animal Health Equine Management Scholarship does not have a specific scholarship question to answer - see specific scholarship for details.
- The Yulgilbar Foundation Travel Awards follow a different application process - see specific award for details.
- For the Webb Scholarship and the IRT International Equine Scholarship additional information is required and due to the nature of the specific scholarship questions, the general College question need not be answered - see specific scholarships for details.
- Applications can be submitted for more than one scholarship, but applicants can only be the recipient of one scholarship in any one academic year. If applying for multiple scholarships, one copy of your CV and one copy of your College essay is sufficient.

Applications are to be received at Marcus Oldham College by no later than 5.00pm Victorian time, on the scholarship close date.
Applications may be submitted via:
- Email: Scholarship Coordinator
- Fax: (03) 5244 1263 made attention to Scholarship Coordinator
- Post: Scholarship Coordinator, Marcus Oldham College, Private Bag 116, Geelong Mail Centre, Vic, 3221

Process
The following process is followed:
- Acknowledgement of the receipt of the written application will be by email or mailed to the address on the CV
- Applicants who are short listed for an interview will be advised approximately 21 days prior to the interview date
- Interviews will be conducted at the College on the dates specified for each scholarship (Note: the College does not conduct scholarship interviews via telephone - with the exception of international applicants)
- The successful applicant will receive a Scholarship Letter of Offer and will need to advise the College in writing of acceptance of the scholarship and obligations as a recipient within 7 days of written notification
- The value of the scholarship will be deducted from the fees in the appropriate academic years(s) unless otherwise agreed to by the College.
In awarding scholarships there are a number of additional factors taken into consideration at the interview including committment to the agricultural or horse industry, personal presentation, academic performance and ability to communicate.
In the opinion of the interview panel, if no applicants are deemed to meet the selection criteria, scholarships may not be awarded.
The College reserves the right to extend the closing and interview dates.
