Non-golfers were entertained by guest speakers, Lucy McEachern, Sculptor Artist and Alexandra Griffiths and Clem Mann, from ‘A Glimpse of Australia’. Lucy spoke of her passion with bronze sculpturing and how the introduction to bronze sculpture at school became a life-long passion. During her rural upbringing Lucy developed an infatuation with birdlife. Her love of sculpture has lead to exhibiting her bronze birds nationally and taken her to Italy, USA, England and more. Lucy had on display some of her beautiful bronze birds. www.lucymceachern.com.au
Alexandra Griffiths, Paintings Conservator, Fine Art Consultant and Art Historian and Clem Mann, Fine Art Consultant and Practising Artist spoke of their business ‘A Glimpse of Australia.’ They gave a very informative insight into paintings from the Central and Western deserts of Australia. Alexandra and Clem had on display (on the walls of the Eynesbury homestead) 25 various and beautiful indigenous paintings from the Northern Territory and gave an in-depth background into the artists behind the paintings. Guests were delighted with their knowledge and passion. www.aglimpse.com.au
Funds raised from the Golf Day have gone towards the extension and upgrade of the College library, the James Darling Resources Centre. Part proceeds were donated to Brainwave Australia, a not for profit charity established in 1994 with a mission to support the treatment, rehabilitation ad care for children with neurological disorders and their families. www.brainwaveaustralia.org
