Dr John Toumbourou

Professor and Chair in Health Psychology
(Deakin University)

Professor Toumbourou is the Chair in Health Psychology within the School of Psychology at Deakin University. He is an Associate Director of the Deakin University Strategic Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing Research and a prominent social advocate in areas related to child and adolescent mental health promotion and the prevention of alcohol and drug problems.

Dr Lynne Millar

Senior Research Fellow - Obesity Prevention
(Deakin University)

Lynne Millar is an Alfred Deakin Research Fellow who has a joint appointment as a Senior Lecturer, Prevention of Chronic Disease, HSD, and a Senior Research Fellow at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention at Deakin University, Geelong. Lynne’s research interests lie in the field of community based childhood obesity prevention. Her recent PhD thesis was entitled, “Community-based Childhood Obesity Prevention”.

Deb Bain

Founder of FarmDay Ltd

Deb Bain was raised as a city girl in Vancouver, Canada. Twenty five years ago she fell in love with an Aussie sheep farmer and never looked back. She shares her husband, David, with three children and 9000 sheep. Farming and living in the basalt grasslands of Western Victoria has given her insight in to the value of agriculture, and in particular as an ex-city girl, she understands the chasm that lies between those who produce food and fibre, and those who consume it.

Dr Annette Dunham

Lecturer, School of Psychology,
Faculty of Health (Deakin University)

Dr Annette Dunham originally trained as an Occupational Therapist. She went on to complete her BA in Psychology, M.Sc. with First Class Honours in Applied Psychology (Industrial and Organisational), and PhD in Psychology at the University of Canterbury. Annette has lectured in organisational psychology at Massey University and at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, and has consulted with various individuals and groups on career and related development issues.

David Oddie

Horticultural Consultant
(DJ’s Growers Services), FM 1994

After completing the Marcus Oldham Farm Management diploma in the early 1990s David returned to his family farming business in the Beaufort district in Victoria, where alongside his wife Pam and his parents worked on building the family business. Good local relationships led to the commencement of Fiery Creek Farms in 2003, a collaborative farming business formed with the aim being the operation of a profitable, sustainable and accountable grain and livestock production business.
