A brilliant day was had by those who participated in the 10th Annual Golf Day, held at Eynesbury Golf course on Friday 26 February. 106 players played either 18 or 9 holes of Ambrose competition. Beat the Pro, nearest to the pin and longest drive were played and on course tastings, supplied by Farmers Daughter Produce store with a ‘guess the weight of the pumpkin’ entertained the golfers on their way round.
At lunchtime 125 golfers and other guests sat down to a provincial style lunch, with live music performed by the ViQueens, they dined on some sumptuous lamb, kindly donated by MC Herd, delicious JBS scotch fillet and wonderful Reschke wines. Nick Myer was MC and auctioneer and Dylan Alcott OAM our guest speaker. Dylan, a Paralympian gold medallist, World Champion, Grand Slam champion and world record holder for both wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis, was incredibly inspirational as he spoke to us about his hurdles and amazing achievements to date and his aspirations for the future. We thank Dylan for his time and Hamish McLachlan for organising such a motivational speaker.
Our golfing winners were as follows:
