On the 25th of March, 2010, Mr Robert Champion de Crespigny visited the college to talk to staff and students. Mr Champion de Crespigny has an impressive CV and he has held positions of:
Chairman of Mineral Securities Limited
(He and others took control of Buka Minerals to form a mining and resource industry finance investment company. Through various mergers this ultimately became part of Mineral Securities Limited, a company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchanges Alternative Investment Market worth $5.25 billion.
Former Chairman of Normandy Mining Limited
which merged with Newmont Mining Corporation, the World’s largest gold company.
Former Partner of KPMG Chartered Accountants
He has been honoured with the Companion of the Order of Australia for service to the mining industry, to business and to the community in the areas of cultural preservation and education.
Mr Champion de Crespigny was awarded the Centenary Medal for service to the community through business and a Doctor of the University for services to the University of Adelaide.
