As Australia’s only independent agricultural and equine business management college, Marcus Oldham offers students a unique educational experience.

Since 1962, Marcus Oldham has built an enviable reputation both nationally and internationally for preparing business leaders who pursue successful careers in the farming, agribusiness and equine management sectors.

The National University Experience Survey 2014 revealed that Marcus Oldham topped the Student Satisfaction Survey. The results identified that Marcus Oldham is ranked in the top five percent of all forty Australian universities for the Quality of Entire Educational Experience and Overall Quality of Teaching. Marcus Oldham also performed above the average achieved of all universities on all scales measured by the survey which comprised Skills Development; Learner Engagement; Student Support and Learning Resources.

The difference with Marcus is its unique ability to develop the individual. Similar to the Harvard experience, the Marcus model of education is based on case study learning. With high student contact hours, small class sizes, excellent lecturers who skilfully deliver the theory with practical application, the education received by students at Marcus Oldham is second to none.

The residential campus nestled on 200 hectares in Geelong and only 20 minutes from surf beaches and 50 minutes to Melbourne provides an enjoyable environment to both live and study.  With students attending the College from all across Australia, a truly enriching social and learning experience is enjoyed by all.

Having been a Student, Lecturer and now Principal at Marcus Oldham College, I genuinely believe Marcus Oldham to be a very special place. Why don’t you consider becoming a Marcus graduate and joining our alumni who are leading the farming, agribusiness and equine management sectors around Australia and the World?

The Marcus Experience

Marcus Oldham College at Geelong Victoria is Australia's leading farm business management, agribusiness and equine business management college with a reputation for providing quality education. Being independent allows our courses to be developed in close consultation with the relevant industries and to incorporate new trends and technology into the teaching programs. Courses are delivered in small class sizes by full-time and guest lecturers who have extensive commercial experience and can relate theory to practice.

Our emphasis is on business management which provides skills that are readily transferable across a wide range of careers, resulting in highly employable graduates who are at the leading edge of their chosen fields.

Studying at Marcus Oldham means you experience so much more than simply an education. The extensive use of study tours at both a national and international level provide a’real world’ education that complements the lecture room tuition.

Students from all states of Australia and overseas live on campus and study in an environment which establishes networks across Australia.

Living On Campus

Most students who study full-time at Marcus Oldham College live on campus in student residences. The College enjoys a convenient geographic location to allow a good life in leisure hours. Situated on 200 hectares it is 20 minutes from the centre of Geelong. The Geelong Bypass is very close to the College and Melbourne is about a 45 minute drive, train services are frequent, and Avalon Airport is 30 minutes from the College. Tullamarine Airport is one and a half hour drive, and Gull Transport provides an excellent bus service. World class surf beaches and the Great Ocean Road are nearby.
Accommodation for students is in individual bed/study rooms, and shared bathroom and laundry facilities. Each room is connected to the College internal IT system and the internet. The College also provides computers in the Computer Room and Library allowing students to study in both these areas 24 hours seven days per week.

The Dining Room is a central feature of the College and all students enjoy three meals a day, seven days a week in tern time. Morning tea is available on week days.

As students undertake one-day and multi-day study tours, living on campus is convenient for those tours that depart early in the day or return in the evening. Having meals provided means you do not have to organise meals for yourself.

Living on campus is a great way to meet new friends and form networks with colleagues that in many cases last a life time. Students who develop effective networks in their early years of study can expect more support in both future careers and personal growth in their industry of choice. It also makes it easy to be involved in sporting and social activities. The College has a large network of Old Students, employers and sponsors which may assist students to advance their careers.
